We are so excited that RILA has chosen to host the Retail Asset Protection Conference 2019 at the Gaylord Rockies in Denver! Why? Denver is an amazing city and it’s also the place InstaKey calls home!
If you find yourself with some extra time and an itch to explore, we thought you might like some recommendations on the best things to do and see around our beautiful city. Sure, you could check popular travel sites for things to do, but consider taking advice from locals like us and check out some of our favorite places!
Technically the Gaylord Rockies is in Aurora, CO and it’s actually a bit of a drive from the hustle and bustle from the city proper, but it’s still a great area. What can we say, we like to spread things out here in Colorado! Here’s a few options that are within 15 miles from the Gaylord Rockies:
If you’d like to get outside and breath some of that fresh, crisp mountain air, but aren’t really the hiking type, book a tee time at this golf course with sweeping views.
If you’re a shopper, you’ll love this open-air market with vendors selling food, antiques, clothes, and almost anything else you can think of!
If you’d like to check out a quirky space featuring over 50 merchants, the Stanley Marketplace is for you. Grab a bite to eat, a drink, check out a salon, take a fitness class, or shop till you drop. There’s something for everyone here!
One of the largest urban wildlife refuges in the United States with more than 15,000 acres of land, the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge is the place to visit if you’re looking to reconnect with nature. Enjoy some easy hiking, see some wildlife and check out the Visitor Center – all for free!
If you feel like venturing a little further away from the Gaylord and visiting the heart of Denver, check out these happenings:
One of the few classy speakeasies in Denver, the Green Russell has a cool, prohibition-era vibe and some amazing cocktails! We’re hosting a Roaring ‘20s party there on Monday May 6th at 6:00 pm with some of our friends! The party is called The Craze. Maybe you’ve heard of it? Register to join us for this exclusive event.
The trendy River North Art District (known as “RiNo,” by locals) is known for its contemporary art galleries but is loved by the locals for so much more. Food halls include Denver Central Market and The Source, a buzzy indoor venue with eclectic products and a bar for small plates and craft beer. Known for its colorful murals, Upper Larimer Street is also home to many of Denver’s best craft breweries and cocktail lounges. Oh, and the late-night food trucks are to die for!
It’s not just a train station anymore – Union Station is a newly-renovated historic landmark that is now a popular spot for dining, drinks and shopping! Some of Denver’s best restaurants and bars here.
A true Denver original, the 16th Street Mall is great for drinks, dining, shopping and people watching! Get up and down the mall on the free MallRide which stops on every corner.
Natural history and science lover? You’ll love the Denver Museum of Nature and Science! With tons of exhibits and things to learn about, there’s never a dull moment (or exhibit) at this museum.
Before you hit the road to check out some of these attractions, remember, you’ll be a mile above sea level. For some, that means taking special care of the body during your visit. Here’s a couple tips to remember:
